Brusher Mills, the Snake catcher

Harry Mills, better known as "Brusher" has become a bit of legendary New Forest figure and is known as the New Forest Snake catcher. New Forest Cider, Postcards and even a Pub have been dedicated to him. Brusher lived for many years in a conical earth charcoal burner’s hut, in an area just north of Hollands Wood.

Born 19th March 1840, Brusher died quite suddenly on the 1st July 1905.
