The New Forest Spring Sportive has become a very popular annual cycling event. The sportive was so popular this year that Wiggle decided to add another another day to this Sportive which forms part of their Wiggle Super Series. Today, 16th April 2011, the New Forest Spring Saturday Sportive rolled out of Brockenhurst College along with an equally popular New Forest Spring MTB Ride.

The sportive riders had a choice of 2 routes; Standard and Epic. The former being 56.48 miles long and the Epic 83.65 miles. Both routes headed out of the college passing through Rhinefield Ornamental Drive, Broomy Lodge, Bramshaw, Landford, Hamptworth, Redlynch, Woodfalls, Hale, Woodgreen, Godshill, Blissford, Frogham, North Gorley, South Gorley, Mockbeggar, Rockford, Linbrook, Poulner, Hightown, Sandford, Avon Tyrell, Thorney Hill, Burley, the Standard ride finished back at Brockenhurst while the Epic riders continued past Tiptoe, Sway, Boldre, South Baddesley, Bucklers Hard, Beaulieu, Pilley, Setley then finishing at Brockenhurst.

The event seemed to be well organised, and was well signposted through out the route. There were food stops along the way where riders could stock up on energy drinks, flap jacks, bananas, cake and peanut butter sarnies.
