Bolderwood is a beautiful area of the New Forest with a large car park and visitor centre. Bolderwood also has a deer sanctuary with deer observation platform. A great chance to see a herd of Fallow deer. There are many good walks and cycling opportunities from Bolderwood. There is also an ice cream van in the car park as well as toilets. The area is a very popular picnic area.
Bolderwood Arboretum Ornamental Drive
From the car park you can follow Bolderwood Arboretum Ornamental Drive down towards the Knightwood Oak, one of the oldest trees and one of the most celebrated places in the New Forest. Then the road crosses the busy A35 and becomes the Rhinefield Ornamental Drive leading to Blackwater Arboretum and The Tall Trees Trail, Rhinefield House Hotel and then Brockenhurst.
Watch a speeded-up cycle video of a journey from Bolderwood Car Park to the start of Rhinefield Ornamental Drive. Note: It is a lot easier cycling downhill towards Rhinefield, it does get a bit steep cycling back in the opposite direction.
